A bright red cherry is all we desire and cherry barb is not and exception. A bright, active and easy going hardy fish for your small planted aquariums. Its easy to maintain even for the first timer.
Being a schooling fish we recommend to keep them in numbers. Males are more colorful, but add few females as boys shows better color with girls around.

Cherry Barb as the name suggest are a bright cherry red pretty much from head to toe. The fish are found in the rainforest of Sri Lanka where they are originated. A small easy going fish which is great addition to community tank. We recommend this fish for beginners, however the basic requirements are to be meet.
Planted aquarium with full greenery with dark background and substrate will bring out their color. Males are more color full than female.
Life span : The fish can live for 5 to 7 years under proper conditions.
Size : Cherry barb can go to 2 inch in size when fully grown.
