The Silver Arowana, scientifically known as Osteoglossum bicirrhosum, is a large, captivating freshwater fish originating from South America. With its shimmering, silver-scale armor and double barbels, the Silver Arowana resembles the dragons of East Asian folklore, making it a popular choice for hobbyist aquarists.
Arowanas are freshwater bony fish of the family Osteoglossidae, also known as bonytongues . In this family of fish, the head is bony and the elongated body is covered by large, heavy scales, with a mosaic pattern of canals.
Silver Arowana Hails from Amazon river basin in South America. They are aggressive fish and calls for demanding care requirement so do the dietary requirements.
Life span : 10 to 15 years ( depending on the condition provided, the worst the condition the shorter the span)
Size : 3 feet (36 inch) in captivity. the fish grow really fast if given proper food and condition.
